Birmingham man in court over kidnap and assault

A 25-year-old man has been remanded in custody after appearing in court charged with kidnap and sexual assault.

Jason Johnson, 25, of Raddlebarn Farm Drive, Selly Oak, is charged with attacking a woman in her 20s after meeting her on a dating website.

He appeared before Birmingham Magistrates and was ordered to attend a further hearing on 8 August.

West Midlands Police said the offences are alleged to have taken place in a Harborne car park on Friday 25 April.

    Car and ambulance crash 11:05:

    Three people have been taken to hospital after a crash involving an ambulance and a car in Yardley this morning.

    West Midlands Ambulance Service says the two passengers in the car had to be cut free before being taken to hospital. One crew member was treated at the scene for a shoulder injury.

    The collision happened in Station Road at about 08:20 while the ambulance had its sirens on responding to an emergency call.
