A man's body has been recovered by police searching a lake in Walsall.

A passer-by reported a man in difficulty in the lake in Walsall Arboretum at about 19:30 BST on Tuesday.

Two police officers attempted to rescue the man but he went under the water.

Specialist teams resumed their search on Wednesday and a body has now been recovered. West Midlands Police said they were treating the death as unexplained.

The arboretum will remain closed for the rest of the day, but is due to reopen as normal on Thursday.
