Walkers bingo club in Wednesbury damaged by fire

Fire at Bingo Hall The fire started on staging and timber flooring in the basement of the club, the fire service said.

A former bingo hall in the West Midlands has been damaged by fire in a suspected arson attack.

The blaze started in the basement of the three-story former Walkers Bingo Club, in Walsall Street, Wednesbury, at about 02:10 GMT, the fire service said.

At its height 75 firefighters were dealing with blaze which had been extinguished by about 05:00 GMT, West Midlands Fire Service said.

It said a full investigation into the cause would be carried out later.
