Teenager charged with attempted murder over Handsworth Wood stabbing

Hamstead Hall Avenue Police said a 17-year-old boy was injured in an attack

A 14-year-old boy has been charged with attempted murder after a stabbing in Handsworth Wood, police have said.

The boy was remanded in custody and appeared at Birmingham Magistrates' Court today.

West Midlands Police said a 17-year-old was injured in an attack, which took place at around 15:45 GMT on Hamstead Hall Avenue on Thursday.

They described his injuries as "serious" but said he had now been released from hospital.
