Three men have appeared in court accused of violent disorder after a student demonstration at the University of Birmingham.

Panagiodis Theodoropoulos, 30, from Bradford, Simon Furse, 22, from Edgbaston, and Tomas Frymorgan, 23, from Sheffield, appeared at Birmingham Magistrates' Court earlier.

They were bailed to appear at the city's crown court on 23 May.

Thirteen people were arrested over the protest against tuition fees.

Five men and five women were released on police bail on Thursday, pending further enquiries.
