Man arrested over drunken 999 calls to West Midlands Police

A man has been arrested for wasting police time after 29 drunken 999 calls were made verbally abusing officers and making sexual remarks.

A 59-year-old from Edgbaston was held after calls were made to West Midlands Police between Wednesday and Thursday.

The calls also made allegations a takeaway delivery driver had offered drugs, police said.

He will be questioned about wasting police time and making malicious communications, police said.
