Woman charged after Tipton dog attack

A woman has been charged after a dog attack in Tipton left one dog dead and an elderly man with cuts to his hands.

The 72-year-old victim was walking his Yorkshire terriers on Field Road on 4 December when two other dogs attacked.

One of his terriers had to be put down after suffering internal bleeding, police said.

Marlana Stewart, 19, is charged with possessing a fighting dog and allowing a dog to be dangerously out of control in a public place.

Ms Stewart, of Field Road, has been released on bail and is due to appear at Sandwell Magistrates' Court on 23 December.

Police said the other Yorkshire terrier was recovering from multiple puncture wounds.
