M6 reopened by police after fatal bridge fall

Traffic was delayed for up to two hours after a man fell from a motorway bridge and died.

The M6 was closed in both directions between junction 4a and junction 4 (Coleshill).

Police were called to the scene at 10:30 GMT. The northbound stretch reopened at 11:30 before the southbound carriageway opened at 12:45.

A spokeswoman for the Highways Agency said: "Delays were expected while police investigated the incident."

Insp Paul Bennett from West Midlands Police urged witnesses to contact the force.
