Man denies wounding HMP Birmingham staff

A 52-year-old man has denied wounding staff at a West Midlands jail.

Ahmed Al-Sharif pleaded not guilty to four counts of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm when he appeared at Birmingham Crown Court.

Mr Sharif is accused of committing the offences against members of staff at the privately-run HMP Birmingham on 7 November.

He also pleaded not guilty to assault causing actual bodily harm and was remanded in custody until 18 November.
