Police hunt gunman who shot Birmingham car window out

Police are hunting a gunman who shot at a parked car in Birmingham.

Officers were called after the shot was heard in Washwood Heath Road just before 22:30 BST, on Tuesday night.

On arrival, they found the window of an empty BMW had been smashed after being shot at. Nobody was injured.

Police, who have been knocking on doors and looking at CCTV footage in a bid to find the gunman, said he was seen getting out of a black Astra estate car.

He was described as wearing a black and white Halloween style mask.

Det Ch Insp Simon Wallis, from West Midlands Police, said: "Even though nobody was hurt we take any incident involving a gun being fired extremely seriously and have launched a investigation to find the person responsible.

"Although this happened after dark there may have been people in the area who heard the shot and saw something that could help our investigation.

"If you have any information please contact us immediately."
