Police charge man after cars set alight in Wall Heath

A man has been charged after seven cars were set alight in the West Midlands.

All the vehicles were targeted in the Wolverhampton Road area of Wall Heath, near Dudley, in the early hours of Monday.

The 36-year-old, of no fixed abode, has been charged with five arsons, one arson with intent to endanger life and one attempted arson.

West Midlands Police said he was due to appear before Dudley Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.

The fires began with a BMW just before 00:20 BST. A Volkswagen Golf, Vauxhall Corsa and Audi A1 were also set alight.

West Midlands Police said a Vauxhall Nova and two vans were also set on fire.
