Police arrest a man after cars set alight in Wall Heath

Seven cars were set alight during an arson spree in the West Midlands, police said.

All the vehicles were targeted in the Wolverhampton Road area of Wall Heath, near Dudley, overnight.

The fires began with a BMW just before 12:20 BST. A Volkswagen Golf, Vauxhall Corsa and Audi A1 were also set alight.

A 36-year-old man from Dudley arrested near to Holbeache Croft on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life was due to be questioned.

West Midlands Police said a Vauxhall Nova and two vans were also set on fire.

Det Sgt Matt Morgan said: "The man is currently in police custody and will be questioned over the arsons later today."
