Woman killed in Birmingham 'hit and run'

One woman has died and two other people have been injured in a "hit and run".

The Ford Fiesta passenger was killed in the crash involving an Audi R8 sports car in Hall Green, Birmingham, at about 23:30 BST on Monday.

The Audi driver left the scene, at the junction of Shaftmoor Lane and Reddings Lane. Another man in the Audi and the woman driving the Fiesta were injured.

A man later attended a police station where he was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

The 24-year-old man, from Acocks Green, attended the Birmingham police station shortly after 03:00 BST.

The woman driving the Fiesta, believed to be in her 50s, had a serious chest injury and was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.

The man in the Audi who was injured was receiving treatment at hospital.
