Birmingham crackdown on Hajj rogue travel agents

22 August 2013 Last updated at 20:37 BST

Fraudulent travel agents who target devout Muslims going on pilgrimage are facing a crackdown in Birmingham.

Many pilgrimage-makers have been stung by rogue firms who take their money but do not deliver the trip that has been booked, Trading Standards said.

Small Heath resident Amir, who has fallen victim to the fraudsters, said: "I spent £10,000 and the hotel they promised us was totally opposite to what we got."

Special Correspondent Peter Wilson reports.
