Man killed in Walsall bus crash named as Majid Hussain

A motorist who died when his car hit a bus head-on in Walsall has been named by West Midlands Police.

Majid Hussain, 34, from Walsall, died in the collision with a double-decker on the Birmingham Road at 18:00 BST on Monday.

Eight people, including the bus driver, were taken to hospital and 17 other passengers were checked over at the scene by ambulance staff.

Police are still appealing for witnesses.

A man has died and 25 other people have been treated after a crash between a car and a bus in Walsall.

It happened near the County Hotel on the Birmingham Road at around 18:00 BST.

West Midlands Ambulance said the 34-year-old man died at the scene.

Eight people, including the bus driver, were taken to hospital while 17 passengers were checked over at a casualty clearing station set up by ambulance service staff.

Those 17 passengers were discharged at the scene, a spokesman said.

A man with a throat injury and a woman with a knee injury were among the eight people taken to hospital.
