Three in court over ex-soldier Brian Farmer's murder

Three people have appeared in court charged with the murder of a former soldier at his home in Birmingham.

Brian Farmer, 64, was found dead by police at his flat in Bakeman House, Coventry Road, Yardley, on 19 May 2012.

Vaughan Davies, 18, from Leicestershire, Lisa Clarke, 40, and John Campion, 48, both from Birmingham, appeared at the city's magistrates court.

They were remanded in custody to appear at Birmingham Crown Court on 3 June.

Davies, from Snarestone, Clarke, from Sapphire Tower, Park Lane in Aston, and Campion, from Nesbit Grove in Bordesley Green, are also charged with false imprisonment.

Mr Farmer spent 22 years in the Army and served in Northern Ireland and the Gulf, police said.
