Man and woman die in Oldbury collision

A man and a woman have died in a crash involving two cars in the West Midlands.

They were both in the same car when the collision happened in Oldbury on the A4123 Wolverhampton Road at about 13:20 BST.

The driver of the other car, a man believed to be in his 30s, sustained a leg injury and a passenger, a 26-year-old man, had a pelvic injury, chest pain and a cut to his head.

They were both taken to hospital.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said it quickly became apparent to crews that nothing could be done to save the woman.

She added: "Crews pulled the man from the wreckage and administered advanced life support at the roadside. Sadly, despite their best efforts, he was also confirmed dead."
