Birmingham man charged after £50k cocaine found in van

A man has been charged with possession of a class A drug with intent to supply after police discovered cocaine, worth an estimated £50,000, in his van.

Officers pulled over the vehicle on Highgate Road in Sparkhill, Birmingham, at about 11:30 BST on Tuesday.

A bag suspected of containing cocaine was seized and the driver, who was alone, was arrested.

The man, aged 23 and from Sheldon, is due to appear at Birmingham Magistrates' Court later.
