Man charged after fatal crash in Birmingham

A man has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving after a crash that left one woman dead and two people seriously hurt, in Birmingham.

The man was detained on Sunday after the accident, which happened after officers tried to stop a Renault Laguna, on Landor Street.

The 25-year-old man is due before Birmingham magistrates on Tuesday.

The collision also involved a Ford Fiesta, whose driver died in hospital, and an Audi.

A man and a woman who were in the Audi at the time of the crash, at 13:45 GMT, were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police have also charged the arrested man with possession of a Class A drug with intent to supply, possession of a Class B drug, failing to stop for a police officer, driving with no insurance and driving without a licence.
