Fire tackled at Royal Orthopaedic Hospital kitchen

About 25 firefighters were called out to tackle a blaze at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham.

Some patients had to be moved as a precaution after the fire broke out at the building in the Bristol Road, Northfield, earlier.

However, the building did not have to be evacuated.

Fire investigators said they believed the blaze started in the kitchen of a ward on the first floor of the hospital.
