Signal failure disrupts trains between Birmingham and Worcestershire

Train services through Birmingham and Worcestershire have been cancelled and delayed by signal problems.

Chiltern Railways and London Midland services were affected by the issue, which began at 07:15 GMT.

Trains between Birmingham Snow Hill and Stourbridge junction were cancelled and there were 20 minute delays between Birmingham and Stratford-upon-Avon.

Network Rail said the problem was fixed about 14:30 GMT but there could still be some delays on later services.

The problems were caused by a defective cable near Old Hill which had now been repaired by engineers, the company said,
