Rowley Regis fire injures woman and child

Rowley Regis house damaged by fire A woman and child were rescued from the house in Rowley Regis in the early hours of the morning

A suspected arsonist is being hunted after a woman and two children were rescued from a house fire.

Emergency services were called to a house on Haden Walk, Rowley Regis, shortly before 01:00 GMT.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said one young child was treated for smoke inhalation and taken to Birmingham Children's Hospital.

A woman, suffering from serious burns to her head and neck, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Two ambulances and paramedics attended the scene, along with crews from West Midlands Fire Service.

West Midlands Police said initial indications suggested the fire was started deliberately.

Officers said they were currently searching for a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident.
