Man charged with murdering Shaista Khatoon of Alum Rock

A 37-year-old man has been charged with murdering a mother-of-five from Birmingham.

Shaista Khatoon, 33, died in hospital after she was found collapsed at her home in Farndon Road, Alum Rock, on Monday, police said.

The man, from Birmingham, is due to appear before magistrates in the city later.

A post-mortem examination found Ms Khatoon died as a result of stab wounds.

Her family said in a statement she was a loving and wonderful mother and they were "shattered" by her death.
