Monarch Airlines to create up to 300 jobs in Birmingham
Monarch Airlines has announced plans to create up to 300 jobs at Birmingham Airport.
A company spokesman said the construction of a new hangar would create 150 jobs initially, with the possibility of another 150 later.
The engineering facility will be large enough to accommodate two Boeing 777-300ER aircraft or 10 narrow-body aircraft.
Monarch said it is due to be completed and operational by the end of 2013.
Birmingham Airport is one of the airline's six UK bases.
