Neachells Lane murder victim is named by police
Detectives investigating the death of a Wolverhampton man have named the victim as Swaran Singh.
West Midlands Police said the 54-year-old's body was found at a house in Neachells Lane on 7 November.
His death was not initially treated as suspicious but a post-mortem examination showed he had been assaulted, police said.
A 42-year-old man questioned on suspicion of murder was released on bail pending further inquiries.
Det Ch Insp Wayne Jones said: "We still await further tests to confirm exactly how Mr Singh died, however we believed he suffered various injuries that would have been as a result of an assault."
He said the house where Mr Singh's body was found, in Wolverhampton, remains sealed off while forensic investigations are completed.
