Jubilee Park body find leads to murder arrest

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the discovery of a body in a park in the West Midlands, police have said.

Officers were called to Jubilee Park in Sandwell at about 08:00 BST after reports a man had suffered serious injuries after being hit by a car.

A 50-year-old man was later arrested in Tipton, a spokesman said.

Police said the victim is understood to be a 58-year-old man from Wednesbury, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

West Midlands Police said several entrances to the park were cordoned off, along with a nearby house, where an estate car with a smashed windscreen was parked on the driveway.

The force said a 50-year-old man was in custody and being questioned by officers.

Detectives appealed for anyone with information on the incident to come forward.
