London Midland line reopened after fallen tree problems
Services between Lichfield and Redditch were affected by the fallen tree
Rail services are running after being suspended for about eight hours following damage from a fallen tree on to the tracks at Sutton Coldfield.
London Midland services between Lichfield in Staffordshire and Redditch in Worcestershire were affected while engineers repaired damage caused.
The line at Erdington remained closed until 18:00 BST, a spokesman said.
"Passengers can expect minor travel delays throughout the night," he added.
Engineers were called to the scene at about 09:45 and removed the fallen tree which had damaged overhead power lines and caused a small fire.
During the closure passengers used some National Express bus services to continue their journeys.
