More than £40,000 found in bag inside car in Great Barr

More than £40,000 of cash was found in a car which was stopped by motorway police in Birmingham.

The money was found in a bag inside the VW Golf on Old Walsall Road, Great Barr, on Saturday, police said.

The driver was arrested and bailed on suspicion of money laundering.

Det Sgt Ian Bulloch said: "We have launched and inquiry into what has been recovered and the arrested man has been questioned over the large amount of cash found in the car he was driving."
