Large scrap metal fire at yard in Nechells
Eight fire engines were sent to the scene of the blaze
Firefighters have been tackling a large fire at a scrap yard in Birmingham.
About 100 tonnes of scrap metal caught fire, creating a large plume of smoke which was visible for miles around.
Eight fire engines were sent to a car fire at EMR yard, in Landor Street, Nechells, at about 19:00 BST.
A spokesman said although the fire was now under control, crews were expecting to be there for some time to try to save the site and equipment there.
