Sewer upgraded with £1m investment to prevent flooding in Kingswinford

Work to reduce the risk of flooding is to be carried out in an area of Kingswinford in the Black Country.

Dudley Council, South Staffordshire Water, IWS, Enterprise and Severn Trent Water are co-ordinating a £1m investment in the Stallings Lane area.

Work will be carried out on the sewage system, which will help to reduce the risk of flooding, and water pipes will also be replaced.

Part of Stallings Lane and Ham Lane will be closed from Monday 23 July.

The council said that some customers may experience disruption to water supply during the work but will be notified beforehand.

Businesses will be open as usual and access to all commercial and domestic properties will be maintained throughout.

The roads are expected to reopen at the start of September.
