M6 'wrong way' lorry driver in court

A lorry driver has appeared in court after allegedly driving the wrong way on a motorway.

A heavy goods vehicle was stopped by police near junction 10 of the M6, on the outskirts of Walsall, at about 22:40 BST on Sunday.

Officers said they received several 999 calls reporting a lorry driving south on the northbound carriageway.

A 50-year-old Hungarian man has been charged with dangerous driving and driving under the influence of alcohol.

He is due to appear before Birmingham Crown Court on 6 August.
