Wolverhampton couple arrested over £1.3m tax fraud

A couple from Wolverhampton have been arrested as part of a £1.3m corporation tax fraud investigation.

A 53-year-old man and a woman, 47, were arrested by HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) officers investigating the alleged theft of public finances.

Vehicles and eight business properties have been searched across Birmingham, Staffordshire and Shropshire.

The HMRC said computers and records were also seized by officers, as part of Operation Tickertape.
