A police officer who posted a "wholly inappropriate" message on Twitter about arrests after an attack on a 93-year-old woman has been reprimanded.
Two people arrested on Thursday in connection with an assault on Emma Winnall in Birmingham last month have since been released on police bail.
PC Hanif Sanghar used the social network site to send out a tweet about the case.
West Midlands Police apologised and said the tweet had been removed.
It added that the two suspects who were arrested on Thursday were innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
In a statement Chief Inspector Sally Seeley said: "Like most people, the officer who tweeted about his role in the double arrest was shocked by the violent nature of the attack on Mrs Winnall and was keen to update people with the latest development in the case.
"It is clear that in doing this, he used terminology which was wholly inappropriate."
