A 35-year-old woman has appeared in court charged with the murder of a war veteran in the West Midlands.

William Davis, 92, was found with head injuries at his home in Hobley Street, Willenhall, on Sunday evening.

Charlotte Frazier-Doody, from Hobley Street, Willenhall, was remanded in custody following a short hearing at Wolverhampton Magistrates' Court.

Ms Frazier-Doody is next due to appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Tuesday 10 April.

West Midlands Police said the great-grandfather, who was found collapsed at his home, died as a result of head injuries.

His son Tom Davis said it would take his family "a lifetime to come to terms with" his death.

Anyone with information which could help the investigation is urged to call police or Crimestoppers.
