Son charged over Oldbury stand-off

A West Midlands man is to appear in court accused of holding his mother at knifepoint inside her home.

The 40-year-old man, from Sandwell, has been charged with one count of false imprisonment following an incident lasting 28 hours in Oldbury.

The incident, in Perry Hill Road, began on Sunday morning. A 79-year-old woman had minor injuries, including a cut thumb, but was released from hospital.

The man is due at Warley Magistrates' Court on Thursday.
