Man critical after getting trapped between two buses

A man is in a critical condition in hospital after getting stuck between two buses at a depot.

Emergency services were called to the National Express West Midlands garage in Bloxwich, during the early hours after reports of a man trapped.

The 24-year-old suffered head injuries and his condition is described as life-threatening, police said.

Police and the Health and Safety Executive are looking into what happened.

Simon Mathieson, area operations director from National Express West Midlands, confirmed an incident had taken place.

"An employee has been taken to hospital and the emergency services attended the scene," he said.

"We are currently supporting the employee's family and a thorough investigation into the cause will take place."

West Midlands Ambulance Service said crews had arrived to find the man trapped.

"The man received emergency treatment at the scene and was transferred to Walsall Manor Hospital by ambulance for further emergency treatment," a spokesman said.

"Unfortunately the man's injuries were considered life-threatening," he added.
