Man 'stable' after stabbing near Wolverhampton pub

A man is in hospital after suffering a number of injuries, thought to have been caused in a knife attack.

Police said an incident occurred in the vicinity of the Ash Tree pub on Dudley Road in Wolverhampton at about 0445 BST on Sunday.

The man, who is aged in his 20s, is now in a stable condition in hospital, West Midlands Police said.

A police cordon by the pub was lifted later in the day. Enquiries to identify those involved have continued.

"If anybody witnessed or has information concerning this matter then please can they contact Wolverhampton Police Station," a spokesman said.
