Woman, 45, charged after fatal house fire in Walsall

A woman has been charged over a house fire in which her husband died and a teenage girl was critically injured.

Carlos Vilela, 46, was confirmed dead at the scene of the fire in Pleck Road, Walsall, West Midlands, on Monday.

Two more teenagers and a woman were taken to hospital after the incident.

Georgina Vilela, 45, from Walsall, is charged with murder and arson and appeared before the town's magistrates earlier.

She did not enter a plea and has been remanded in custody until a later date.
