Four charged over Handsworth Wood woman's death

Four people have been charged with the murder of a woman who was smothered to death in Birmingham in 2009.

West Midlands Police said the three men and one woman, all from Handsworth Wood, were charged with the murder of Nalia Mumtaz.

The 21-year-old was found unconscious at an address in Craythorne Avenue in July 2009 and died a short time later.

The four, all from Craythorne Avenue, will appear at Birmingham Magistrates' Court on Friday.

The charged men are aged 49, 29 and 23 and the woman is 26 years old.
