Woman dies after being struck by bus in Reading

A woman died when she was hit by a bus in Reading.

The crash, involving a Thames bus, happened Friar Street in the town centre at about 07:45 BST.

The 52-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene, Thames Valley Police said.

Friar Street was closed both ways between the Cheapside junction and Blagrave Street near Reading Station for about three hours to allow investigations to take place.

Police are appealing for witnesses.
