'High winds' cause Caversham power cut

Hundreds of residents were left without power after high winds caused a fault in the network.

More than 700 homes in Caversham, Berkshire, were affected by the two-hour failure from noon.

Southern Electric said it was expecting high winds to cause problems across its network during the day.

The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for wind for south-west England and south and west Wales, where gale force gusts up to 60mph are expected.
