A £260,000 mobile chemotherapy unit has been launched to treat patients across west Berkshire.

Cancer charity Hope for Tomorrow has provided Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust with the vehicle.

The unit will travel to sites around the county to allow cancer patients to receive treatment closer to where they live.

It will be based in Thatcham, with specialist nurses that can treat 12 to 15 people each day.

It also comes complete with four treatment chairs, and a waiting area for relatives.
