The opening of six new shops at Reading station has been delayed by several months.

Network Rail said in November the shops would be moving on to the passenger bridge this month.

But a spokesperson for the firm said they would now not be in place until the summer due to delays in the refurbishment of the station.

It is currently undergoing a £900m upgrade which is due to be completed next year.

Currently there is one shop on the new passenger bridge leading to the platforms.

No exact date has yet been set for when the other six shops, including Upper Crust, Hotel Chocolat and Boots, will open.
