Taxi driver appeal as woman hurt in Reading collision

Police are looking for the driver of a black taxi after a woman suffered "serious" head injuries.

The 20-year-old was struck moments after getting out of the "London-style" taxi in Sherfield Drive, Reading on Tuesday. The driver did not stop.

Police are appealing for anyone who was in the area, close to a student halls of residence, between 23:50 Tuesday and 00:05 GMT Wednesday, to contact them.

The woman was taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital for treatment.
