Ascot to lose police station during refurbishment work

Ascot police station Ascot police station will close on 18 November until mid to late March 2014

A Berkshire town will be without its police station for four months because of "major refurbishment", Thames Valley Police has said.

Ascot police station will close on 18 November until mid to late March 2014.

The High Street station will be handed over to contractors and there will be no police presence on site, or access allowed, during the works.

The force's neighbourhood policing team will be temporarily based at Windsor police station in Alma Road.

Members of the public are being advised to use alternative police stations or to dial 101 for non-emergency calls and routine inquiries.
