A man has appeared in court to deny killing a teenager found dead more than 30 years ago.

Claire Woolterton, 17, from Northolt, north-west London, had been stabbed and strangled when she was found on a River Thames towpath in Windsor in 1981.

Colin Campbell, formerly of Acton, west London, pleaded not guilty to murder at Reading Crown Court.

The 66-year-old, who was charged last November, will stand trial later this week.

Miss Woolterton's body was found by a member of the public in Barry Avenue on 28 August, 1981.
