Man charged over Reading garden murder bid

A man has been charged with the attempted murder of a woman who was attacked with a bladed weapon in a garden in Reading.

The woman, aged in her 50s, suffered arm, head and back injuries at the private property in Grafton Road, Tilehurst, on Friday night.

She remains in a stable condition in hospital, say police.

The accused man, 38, who has also been charged with assault by beating, is due before Reading magistrates on Monday.

Police said those involved are known to each other.

They added it was unclear what type of weapon was used in the attack.
