Woman injured in Reading 'blade attack'

A woman has suffered arm, head and neck injuries in an attack with a "bladed weapon" in a garden in Reading.

Police said the victim, who is believed to be in her 50s, was assaulted by a man in the garden of a private property in Grafton Road, Tilehurst, on Friday.

She is in a stable condition at Royal Berkshire Hospital, officers say.

A 38-year-old man, from Reading, has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and is being questioned.

Thames Valley Police are appealing for information about the attack.

The offender is described as white and was seen before and after the attack, which happened at about 19:30 BST, riding a blue or green Suzuki GSX-R motorbike.

He was wearing blue denim jeans and a blue denim jacket.
