A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following an attack in a Berkshire town.

The victim was found by an ambulance crew at a property in The Nightingales in Newbury on Wednesday evening.

Following a police search, a 41-year-old man was arrested near the scene.

Supt Robin Rickard said: "Incidents such as these, while rare, can be distressing and disruptive to the local community."
