Berkshire motorbike crash leaves one dead and one injured

One man died and another was seriously injured when their motorbikes collided in Berkshire on Sunday.

The men, who were riding near Reading as part of a group of eight motorcyclists, crashed on the A33 southbound near the M4 junction.

The crash happened at about 11:20 BST and a 46-year-old man from Alton in Hampshire died at the scene.

Police said the other rider, a 61-year-old from Rake, Hampshire, suffered "serious" injuries and is in hospital.

In a statement Thames Valley Police said "numerous people" stopped to help at the scene, and officers have appealed for witnesses.

The road was closed for three hours. The casualties' families have been informed.
